Sponsorship and How it Works

Sponsoring your local robotics team is a great way to support science and engineering education in the Morgantown area. 100% of donations go towards competition registration fees, outreach supplies, robot parts, and team hotel bills during travel to regional competitions. We strive to create a program that is accessible to any student regardless of economic status, your generous donation makes it possible for all students to have the opportunity to take part in our program.

MARS is a 501(c)3 nonprofit organization, offering sponsoring organizations the ability to make tax deductible contributions to the team. You can make a donation to MARS by sending a check or money order made payable to Mountaineer Area RoboticS with Mountaineer Area RoboticS on the memo line in the enclosed envelope to 135 Willey Street, Morgantown WV. Email mars2614@gmail.com for more info.

It is also possible to donate through pay-pal with the following link, made available for your convenience.

2017 Hellas Planitia Sponsor Award- NASA’s IV&V Facility

In 2017, MARS instituted the Hellas Planitia Award (named after the largest crater on the surface of Mars) to honor a sponsor with a “crater” impact in helping us fulfill our mission. The inaugural award was presented to NASA’s IV&V Facility for their immense influence over expansion of the state’s FIRST and STEM networks. The facility has worked with MARS for the past five years to inspire the creation of over 200 robotics teams around WV.
