Want us to come to your event?

MARS is dedicated to the growth of STEM and FIRST in West Virginia, we’re constantly exploring new events and opportunities in our area. In 2019 we attended 81 community outreach events and are always looking to expand that number. We’d love to bring one of our robots, either competition or parade depending on expected participant age.

We also offer activities including:

  1. Making your own Brush Bots. Resembling HEX bugs, a brush bot is made with a toothbrush head, motor, and watch battery.

  2. Play-Doh circuitry. An initiative used to teach circuitry to a young age while utilizing the conductivity of Play-Doh.

  3. Marvin’s Mighty Mission coloring books. Used to teach a younger age about MARS and our process.

  4. Whats-In-A-Robot documentation. A large pull up sign and handouts comparing our robot to a human body for increased comprehension.

  5. Lightsicles. Making flashlights out of popsicle sticks to teach circuitry.

  6. Robot Demonstration. MARS’s 2020 Robot, named MARVIN XIII, is a small and child-friendly robot that shoots small foam balls and allows students a chance to drive and interact with MARS’s work.

  7. LEGO Robot Presentation. LEGO table-top robots that participants will have an opportunity to design and program under the instruction of MARS students.
